Designing Libraries for Diversity & Social Equity
Trina Goodwin, Associate Principal, Architect, and Interior Designer at Noll & Tam, recently co-led a Library Journal webcast with Amy Crawford, Associate and Interior Design Lead with Anderson Brulé Architects. The webcast was moderated by Dr. Brandy McNeil, Director of Adult Services for the New York Public Library. The thoughtful program included insights from our community engagement process in collaboration with LEVER Architects for two branch libraries in Portland, Oregon: Albina and North Portland. Trina talked through community meetings and the implementation of our YODA (Youth Opportunity Design Approach) process, and what creating an amenity for a historically disadvantaged community looks like.
