“People respond to the small things. It’s a discovery that continues with how the space is inhabited.”
Merideth Marschak has been with the firm since 1999, wearing the dual hats of architect and manager on a wide variety of projects. As the director of the firm’s Quality Assurance program, she ensures that projects meet the highest standards, offering key design reviews that help refine and elevate the work at critical stages.
Merideth attributes the firm’s success to its intelligent and dynamic team, whose ability to approach problems from multiple perspectives sets them apart. When hiring, she values natural creativity and seeks to amplify diverse voices within the firm. “Clients get a better outcome when they work with creative and engaged people,” she says, emphasizing her belief in fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Outside of architecture, Merideth finds her harmony in the soil. A passionate gardener, her love of plants has outgrown her own yard and expanded to a once-weedy roadside nearby, which she has lovingly transformed. She believes that, like plants, people thrive when they’re in the right environment—a philosophy that shapes both her approach to design and her leadership style.
Merideth’s thoughtful and nurturing perspective, whether applied to a project, a team, or a garden, reflects her commitment to creating spaces and systems where life and creativity can flourish.
