In November 2016, the new Hayward 21st Century Library and Community Learning Center had its topping out ceremony. The top-most steel beam of the structure was signed by the attendees: local city officials and staff, members of the design and construction teams, and community members. The beam was then hoisted into place to complete the framing of the structure. This marks an important moment in the construction of this new three-story, Net Zero Energy library, and our team looks forward to its completion in early 2018.
