Oakland Zoo Veterinary Hospital
As part of the Zoo’s ongoing expansion, this new veterinary hospital replaces the 1960s-era facility with a centrally located building that accommodates state-of-the-art technology and increased capacity. The new hospital features radiology and surgical suites, a small laboratory, a pharmacy, and wide hallways and transportation docks, which has allowed the Zoo to expand their animal care, research, and training programs and treat nearly all 96 species at the Zoo. The building is the first LEED certified facility of its kind in California.
LEED GOLD CERTIFIED
“The Oakland Zoo Veterinary Hospital is the best and largest wild animal veterinary facility in Northern California—and probably one of the top ten in the country.”
