“Every project is a classroom, every design a lesson, and every challenge an opportunity to grow.”
Ellie thrives on the variety and complexity of her work. Currently leading the Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District project, she is delving into the intricacies of wastewater management, watershed ecology, and the water cycle. Her fascination with the tactile aspects of design parallels her love for folding dumplings and assembling tamales with her family.
With a background in art history, Ellie appreciates the intersection of history, culture, and design. She enjoys working in three dimensions, whether through architecture or ceramics, embodying her philosophy: "Trying to make the best thing happen in the time that you have."
Reuniting with her daughter at the end of the day is her favorite time, a moment of joy that underscores the biggest leap in her life: becoming a mother.
Ellie’s nightstand reflects her diverse interests, featuring books like "Pachinko" by Min Jin Lee and "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. She also enjoys articles on Pulque and travel guides on Spain, fueling her inspiration for her next adventure, while getting lost in NPR and KALX radio.
