The Marine Mammal Center

A center of environmental stewardship with a mission of marine rescue

In association with Scott Dennis Architect, our firm designed new facilities and the adaptive re-use of existing structures for The Marine Mammal Center, located on a former Nike missile silo site in the Marin Headlands. The Center is a non-profit research, teaching, and rescue hospital rehabilitating more than 600 animals annually. The facility celebrates the site’s rich history and physical beauty while dissolving the separation between the indoor and outdoor elements.
